Hangry No More

I used to be the poster child for “Hangry.” My friends knew there was a countdown whenever we made plans—if food didn’t appear quickly, I’d go full Snickers commercial. You know, “You’re not yourself when you’re hungry?” That was me, times ten. My blood sugar was all over the place and, well… let’s just say my bathroom visits were like rare, unsatisfying cameos.

Every day was a battle. Morning snacks, lunch, mid-afternoon “just-in-case” snacks. But no matter what treats I packed—granola bars, fruit, protein shakes—I never felt right. Cranky, bloated, and running on fumes, my life was a drama nobody wanted tickets for. The constipation? Let’s just say my digestive tract had a flair for suspense. Forget thrillers, waiting for relief was the real cliffhanger!

One desperate evening, after snapping at my husband over the last piece of pizza (he really should’ve known better), my son showed my a site called Tranquility Foods. Could swapping a few foods to manage my stress actually help? I figured, why not? What did I have to lose—except another argument about carbs?

I started slow, following their stress-busting guidelines. To my surprise, my snacks felt less like life rafts and more like treats. My mood stopped swinging like a soap opera plot twist. Best of all, trips to bathroom became, dare I say, regular as clockwork. I actually called my best friend from the bathroom once just to celebrate. (She was not as excited as I was.)

Now, my hangry moments are rare. No more dramatic snack attacks or “beware of Mom” signs around dinnertime. I’m happier, my blood sugar is steady, and my digestive system? She finally learned to cooperate.

Trust me, if Tranquility Foods helped this drama queen find her calm, there’s hope for anyone. And my family? They’re just grateful there’s less drama and a lot more dessert to share.
